EES Seeking Candidates for Research Faculty Position
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) at Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking candidates for a research faculty position. We are a rapidly growing department with over $14 Million in endowment funds. We seek a dynamic individual who will complement existing research in the department by building to strengths, filling gaps, and providing potential for collaboration. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact faculty in the Department about ongoing research and potential collaborations. Questions about this position can be sent to Dr. Allen McNamara at allenmc@msu.edu. Review of applications will begin 2 weeks after this job was initially posted, but new applications will continue to be considered until the position is filled.
We are seeking candidates that will develop a vigorous, externally-funded research program, contribute to a collegial and cohesive departmental environment, and seek collaborative linkages with different units across campus. The successful candidate will be expected to support their own salary, starting from the time of hire, based on external funds from their own projects. Applicants are required to have a PhD in Geological Sciences or related field, a demonstrated track record of supporting their own research through external grants, and at least 6 months of salary support from funds in hand at the time of hire, with solid prospects for future funding.
