Our Academic Major Programs
The Geological Sciences and Environmental Geosciences majors will enter into moratorium starting Fall of 2026. Students may enroll in these programs until then and students already enrolled in these programs can continue in them until graduation, but no new enrollees will be allowed starting Fall 2026 or later, instead students should enroll in the new Earth and Environmental Sciences major, which has multiple pathways through the major to support careers in geology, environmental science, and planetary science.
Our Academic Minor Programs
Field trips and excursions
Development of field skills forms an important part of our degree programs. Many courses in the undergraduate curriculum therefore incorporate day or weekend trips to apply classroom knowledge in the field. The Geological Sciences degree also includes a 6-week field camp.
