March 19, 2021 Meet and Greet Information
We would like to invite all members of EES and potential graduate students to a virtual “EES Meet and Greet”! This is an open space for everyone to talk about anything related to EES, MSU, and East Lansing. These informal events will occur on March 19th, one hour before the beginning of the symposium, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm (EDT) to chat over lunch, and after the symposium for a social hour from 3:30 to 4:30 pm (EDT). This will provide an opportunity for potential students to meet with grads, undergrads, faculty, and staff!
We're moving the virtual post-symposium social hour to Gather Town. Gather Town is a very flexible chatroom, ideal for hosting many conversations between ever changing subgroups of a large group of people. The EES Social Space in Gather Town is located at this web address: https://gather.town/app/FSBNJZkyRWIq2Llv/EES%20Social%20Space
The EES Meet and Greet will still occur on March 19th, one hour before the beginning of the symposium, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm (EDT) to chat over lunch in Zoom: https://msu.zoom.us/s/91618480251 with passcode: EESRocks.
However, after the symposium on March 19 for a social hour from 3:30 to 4:30 pm (EDT), we will meet in Gather Town: https://gather.town/app/FSBNJZkyRWIq2Llv/EES%20Social%20Space
These meetings will provide an opportunity for potential students to meet with grads, undergrads, faculty, and staff!
FACULTY: Please attend and share this (as well as the symposium program) with your current and potential students, as it is important to establish communication early on. This event is a space where all the EES Department people can meet potential students and vice versa.
If you have any questions, comments, or requests please email the GSO Symposium Committee at eesgso@gmail.com or Dr. Julie Libarkin at libarkin@msu.edu. Any questions about Gather Town can be directed to Seth Jacobson at seth@msu.edu. Thank you and we hope to see you there!
