EES Student Spotlight: Sage Stockdale
Undergraduate Environmental Geoscience student Sage Stockdale is working with Dr. Kelly Aho’s lab researching stream carbon dynamics. They are looking at how short-term hydrological variation (precipitation events) impact carbon dioxide concentration in streams. They are also developing a low-cost carbon dioxide concentration measuring system to conduct this research.
As a transfer student that started at MSU in the fall of 2023, Sage indicated that they have really appreciated advice from their mentor, Dr. Aho. “She is excellent at giving feedback and pushing me to pursue my goals. I would like to go to graduate school. Being involved in undergraduate research will help me achieve this goal. It is also great to see what a career in research could be like.”
Sage loves outdoor recreations like climbing, fly fishing, and backpacking.
