Distinguished Speaker Dr. Min Chen Looks at Earth's Interior
This week EES is pleased to introduce our Distinguished Speaker and newest EES faculty member, Dr. Min Chen. She will present "Seeing Earth's Complex Interior with Seismic Waves".
Chen is a computational seismologist. Her research interests lie in developing and applying numerical tools harnessing the power of high performance computing for seismic full waveform inversion, imaging, and interpretation. Her research aims to better understand plate tectonic processes and earthquake rupture processes.
Chen is currently an assistant professor, jointly appointed by the Department of Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Join us for this indepth look at Earth's interior, Friday, October 6, 2017 at 12:30 PM in Room 204, Natural Science building on the East Lansing campus.
